Honeybee - State Insect

Adjacent to Poison Springs State Forest, this park lies on the shore of Lower White Oak Lake, 1,700 timber-filled acres for bass, crappie, catfish, and bream fishing. Watchable wildlife and birding opportunities abound here. The park offers regular sightings of great blue heron, egret, osprey, and green heron, and in wintertime, migrating bald eagles.

Park facilities include 45 campsites (four Class A, 37 Class B, and four Tent Sites); a store with supplies and gifts for sale (open throughout the year); standard pavilion; picnic sites; and a playground. The visitor center includes exhibits. Bicycles can be rented here.

The park marina offers fishing boat, pedal boat, canoe, and kayak rentals. A boat ramp provides access to the lake. In the waters of White Oak Lake, the catfish daily limit is five and the bream daily limit is 50. The largemouth daily limit is 10. Bass from 15" - 18" must be released immediately. One bass over 18" can be kept. Crappie are temporarily catch and release only, according to Arkansas Game and Fish regulations.

Choose from the park's hiking trails or almost 10 miles of mountain bike trails leading through a diversity of natural environments ranging from marshlands to Beech covered ridges. A variety of interpretive programs, including guided hikes, are offered during the summer.

From I-30 at Prescott, travel 20 miles east on Ark. 24, then go south on Ark. 299 approximately 100 yards, then go two miles southeast on Ark. 387.
